Matt Saunders

I am an active Powerlifter, competing both Nationally and Internationally, all over the world. I lift in the BDFPA (British Drugfree Powerlifting Association) which is affiliated to the WDFPF (World Drugfree Powerlifting Federation). I have been competing at a World level for 10 years and am unbeaten in that time. I compete in the 100Kg class and am the current World Champion in this class. I have been the top lifter "pound for pound" in the federation for the last 5 years and I have a competition best "total" of 860Kg (British & European Record). My best lifts in competition are as follows: Squat 315.5Kg (British & European Record) Bench Press 222.5Kg (World Record) Deadlift 335Kg (World Record). My achievements to date include 10 Powerlifting World titles. 8 British Powerlifting titles. 5 European Powerlifting titles. I also hold numerous domestic titles as well as 2 World Records and multiple British & European Records. Statistically I am the most successful lifter in the Federations history. I have been training at Top Body Gymnasium in Gorleston for over 10 years and have found it to be the best equipped, well organised and friendly gym that I have ever trained at. The staff are courteous and professional and always willing to help out and give advice. The manager,Scott Graysmark, isalso my coach and trainer and his help has been instrumental in my success. The gym boasts an "on site" fully qualified Sports Therapist who is superb and has also helped me immensely to stay en route to achieving my goals. I am indebted to all the staff and in particular the owner, Dean Mcternan, who has been very accommodating to my requirements, to the extent of acquiring extra weights to help me train and stay on track to maintaining my World titles. I will continue to train at the gym for many years to come, and cannot endorse it enough to others. The improvements to the décor and equipment have been incredible. Well done to Dean and all the team! Matt Saunders. 10 x World Powerlifting Champion.

Bert Cadmore – Personal Profile for Top Body Gym website

Occupation: retired teacher Top Body member since December 2005 After a teaching career lasting thirty seven years, I retired as Head of Upper School at Stalham High School in summer 2005.
Having always been actively involved in various sporting activities, retirement presented the opportunity to spend more time working on fitness. Through the autumn of 2005, I attended the gym on a casual basis, really ‘testing the water’, making sure it was for me. Since joining in December 2005 I’ve never looked back. I feel fitter than I have for several years, and have lost weight and developed muscles I never knew were there. I really enjoy my workouts of 1½ to 2 hours, usually 4 times a week. All of the staff are friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable, and willingly spend time ‘one to one’; ensuring members like me have appropriate programmes to follow, with professional advice always available.
